This was a neat little kayak day trip that we completed in early October of last year. We entered the river in South Winnipeg near the Perimeter Highway and we finished at Provencher Boulevard, just before the Seine reaches the Red. It takes almost a whole day to run this route, the good news is that it's only a 15 minute drive from start to finish.
Overall it was an excellent trip. The river was fairly small and there were only a handful of simple obstacles, like beaver dams, fallen trees, and swamped shopping carts. It's a good idea to bring a small saw for the dead fall and also look into river levels before embarking.
The river follows green space for most of the journey and there is a surprising amount of wildlife. We had a copy of the map below that was somewhat helpful in planning, but not entirely necessary. The map can be found here or click on the image.
